Plans and activities

Every chat has a shared calendar. Events record what happened or what's coming, plans keep track of what you want to do, and activities let you record and chart things over time.

How they fit together

A plan can be scheduled or completed with an event. An event can carry activity values, and each member can add their own entry. Activities defined on your persona can also be recorded as observations on their own. Plan To-do, Wish or Challenge Due date · repeats · for whom done with Event Time · place · photos or a route Bob · Workout 45 min Alice · added 50 min Activity What you record Workout: minutes Observation One recording of an activity, private or shared in a chat Calendar Shows a chat's events, observations, photos, files and the plans that are due, day by day
Activities are defined on your persona and recorded on events or as observations. Plans are completed with events or just checked off.

Calendar

Open a chat's sections and choose Calendar. A month sits on top, and the selected day's timeline below it.

Times show in the time zone of your device. An all-day plan stays on its date wherever you look at it from.

Events

An event is something that happens at a time: dinner, a hike, a doctor's appointment. It appears in the timeline, on the calendar, in the Events tab and, if it has a place, on the map.

Add an event

  1. In a chat, tap + › Event.
  2. Enter a Title and when it Starts. Turn on End Date & Time if it has an end.
  3. Optionally add a Location, up to 10 photos or videos (the first is the event's highlight), a description and activity values.
  4. Tap Add.

Taking part

Only the person who created an event can edit or delete it. Everyone else takes part by adding their own entry with Add yours, for example their own time or distance. Only you can change your entry. Deleting an event also removes the entries other members added to it.

Plans

A plan is something the chat wants to do: a restaurant to try, a chore, a challenge. Plans live in the chat's Plans tab, grouped into lists.

FieldWhat it's for
KindTo-do, Wish or Challenge. This only changes the icon and wording.
ListWhich list it belongs to. New plans go in Unsorted.
Due DateA deadline, with or without a time. Plans that are due show on the calendar.
ForWho should do it. Nobody selected means anyone.
ActivitiesValues to collect when the plan is done with an event.
Location, Link, NotesWhere, a web page about it, and anything else.
RepeatEvery day, week, month or year, with an optional end.

Add a plan

Tap + › Plan in a chat, or Add Plan in the Plans tab. Use the Lists menu to create, rename or delete lists. Deleting a list moves its plans to Unsorted.

What's next?

Open a plan to decide what to do with it:

Anyone in the chat can edit a plan or check it off. Only the person who added it can delete it.

Repeating plans

When a repeating plan is done, the next one is added. Next One chooses how its due date is set:

Repeats keep their time of day across daylight-saving changes, and month-end dates stay at the end of the month. Dropping a repeating plan stops it repeating.

Activities

An activity describes something you want to record, such as a workout, your mood or glasses of water. Activities belong to your persona, under the Activities tab on the persona page, and you can use them in any of that persona's chats.

Create an activity

  1. On the persona page, open Activities and tap Add Activity › Create Activity.
  2. Start from a template (Just log it, Mood, Water, Workout or Weight) or from scratch.
  3. Under What do you record?, use Add a Value for each thing to record, up to 10. The When recording preview shows what the form will look like.
Value typeRecordsExample
OccurrenceJust that it happenedCheck-in
ChoiceOne of a few options (up to 20)Mood: Great, OK, Low
CountA whole number, with an optional unitWater: 6 glasses
MeasurementA number with a unitWorkout: 45 min

Each value can have limits and be marked required. Activity definitions can be shared as JSON with Export JSON Definition and Import JSON Definition. When someone records an activity in a chat, other members can copy it with Add activity to my persona.

Observations

An observation is one recording of an activity: when it happened, its values, and optional notes and photos. Where you record it decides who sees it.

Other members can add their own entry to a shared observation, just as they can for events. The chat's Activities tab and each activity's page show charts over 30 days, 90 days, a year or all time: a line per person for measurements, stacked bars for counts, and a timeline for choices. Your current and longest streaks appear on the activity's page.
